Sport dzisiaj - rozwój ciała i duszy czy osiągnięcie zawodowe i pieniądze - Sport of today - development of body and soul or professional achievement and money
Sport is one of the most beautiful aspects of human life. Sport means exercise, dynamism, and this does a lot of good to our body and soul. It teaches us respect for a rival as well as gives us happy moments when we win. Thanks to sport we shape our bodies, we become stronger, we develop our strong will and ambition.
Sport has played an important role in the lives of society since ancient times. It often happens that contestants help each other giving up a victory in this way. This behaviour is called fair play. Sport is not only rivalry and desire to win by hook or by crook but also friendship and interpersonal and international help. Unfortunately for some time now one can notice a departure from sporting values. When I watch competitions, I perceive a mutual aversion and morbid rivalry in order to take the first place and win a lot of money. Sometimes I am under the impression that sportsmen and sportswomen train hard for money and fame, and not for love for sport. It is sad but true. The next problem is doping that results from the drive to win at all cost. Doping is a disobedience to the sporting rules according to which the best and the most devoted should win. It is sad that many competitors take the easy way because they are afraid of hard and systematic work. The pressure of sponsors, trainers and us as supporters is enormous. All we want is victories and medals consenting to doping at the same time. In sport, as in nature, only the fittest win. One should understand that sport is something more than rivalry, it is a style of life in a way. It is just sport that teaches us perseverance, patience and hard work. That is why the joy of victory is the most beautiful feeling for every sportsperson. And that is not the result itself that is the most important. Sport is something which unites different races, nations and communities.
