Long live Europe so that peace can last! Europe, my homeland, my heaven where I was born and where I desire to live, work and have a good time! Europe of the 21st century - how much I would like you to be tolerant! Do not be strange to us, be a mosaic of different cultures, customs and languages. Step by step, we - the Polish people - we are getting closer to you. We would like to know you better. Open to us the door to your land where everyone could live, work wherever he or she wants to. Let us discover your mysteries.

The idea of a united Europe was born in the Middle Ages. The German emperor - Otto III proposed this project. Unfortunately, his vision was never realized. Nowadays we speak different languages and the European Union unifies all the nations.

I would like Europe to grant power and equal rights to each of her children. I think that a united Europe will protect us from wars. I hope that people of different races and nationalities will be able to feel at home throughout Europe. I would like Europe to unify all the nations and cherish values of peace, freedom and common good. Europeans should respect peculiarities of others, their traditions and cultures. A united Europe should open her door to those who want to join her. A Europe of the 21st century will be a superpower which will fight unemployment, fascism, war, hunger and AIDS. I would like Europe to unify standards of living, and help those in need. She must endeavour to achieve perfection; without losing her distinct qualities and her glorious uniqueness she will form a European fraternity. Although social and economic conditions in the twelve coountries of the European Union differ considerably, harmonisation is possible. Then, such Europe would be a chance for countries which are the least advance. A united Europe will become a reality once one can cross national borders freely, and choose one's place of residence and work.

In the name of the common good which a safe existence and progress of the civilisation are part of, Europe will enter into the new millenium. Unique, strong, attractive - Europe and her inhabitants who will live in peace and happiness.
