Inteligencja, umiejętności, edukacja i uczciwość mają małe znaczenie - Intelligence, Abilities, Education, and Honesty are of Minor Importance

We all have our ideals and dreams. Unfortunately the grey reality exercises its overwhelming influence on them. The necessity of making money, building up a career, and establishing professional and emotional connections can become our top priority.

Is it true that intelligence, abilities, education and honesty are of minor importance? Sometimes they are. The examples of what is the most important nowadays, that is, power and money show this clearly. A man who has achieved one of these can be happy. But a man with neither money nor power may find coping with life difficult. We sometimes hear about very clever young people who have great ambitions, want to go to university, but they cannot do it. Why? The answer is simple: they cannot afford it. Because of the lack of money their dreams will not come true. Furthermore, their abilities and talents are wasted. In the meantime teenagers who are not keen on learning but have rich parents do not have to worry about anything. Their parents will buy them a place at university. And where is justice? One will not find it. What about honesty? Does it really exist? Is a professor at university aware of the fact that corruption is immoral? Of course he is. But he does not know a quality called honesty. All that surrounds him is dishonest. His low salary makes him prone to bribery to ensure himself holidays abroad. After all, someone people say that honesty is not the best policy. And there is a bit of truth in it. Antoine de Saint - Exupéry once said: 'Working for money we build for ourselves prison full of gold which does not give us anything for what it is worth living'. That is why intelligence, abilities, education and honesty are important. As far as I am concerned I would rather be well-educated and respected than just to be rich.
